Ukrainoje autoriai gali rašyti ką nori. Prieš dvidešimt metų, nepaisant perestroikos, toks teiginys būtų reiškęs viso labo tuščią viltį. Nuo tada praėjo ne tiek jau daug laiko, bet, jei demokratijos matu laikytume kūrybos laisvę, be jokių abejonių galėtume tvirtinti, kad demokratija Ukrainoje sėkmingai įsitvirtino, be to, ji yra normali, o ne valdoma.
